Hi Dr. Casey,

Do you have an opinion about uranium mining and milling? I realize VUI sponsored an exhibit at the museum as part of their community relations initiative.

What is especially concerning is that we've been told that VUI would likely be unable to conduct the more modern method of uranium mining -- the in-situ leaching process -- which is considered by industry to be the more "benign" method. We understand that VUI would probably do open-pit mining, which is the older method and which - to my knowledge - isn't currently being done anywhere in the US at the moment. And considering there are two deposits at Coles Hill, that would likely mean 2 very large open pit mines.

And have you heard any talk about which water resources they would need to tap into? I hear it's a very water-consuming industry...

Thanks!
